When Igor Michel, sales consultant at Weatherby Healthcare in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., first started looking into CHG, he was blown away by the enthusiasm he saw from both current and prospective employees.
"It seems like people from all over the place are trying to get a job at CHG," Igor says. "People are obviously attracted to it because of the reputation it has of being an excellent place to work, but they are also drawn here because they feel they can grow here."
Igor joined CHG in May 2012, and quickly became a fan of CHG's dedication to growth himself.
"My favorite part of my job is the freedom I have to build my own business," he says. "The opportunity is just looming there. In other businesses, the opportunity is there, but it's very distant and it seems like only five in 500 will make it. At CHG, however, you not only see the light at the end of the tunnel, you're almost blinded by it."
After four months of working as a sales consultant, Igor has come to realize that in addition to opportunities to grow, CHG is also unique in the camaraderie exhibited by its employees. Read his story about an inspiring new employee and a selflessly helpful team.
What first drew me to CHG was the fact that everyone I talked to really liked working here. It sounds like corporate brainwash, but it's true: Everybody I talk to is very satisfied with their position in the company; people working here think CHG a great company and a great place to work.
A perfect example of this is David Sawka, consultant at CompHealth permanent placement in Fort Lauderdale. I first met Dave at the Salt Lake City airport; we were both on our way to CHG's training class. He told me that he was dropping everything to do this job and work for this company – it was that important to him. I remember thinking, "Wow. That is really impressive. That someone would go more than out of their way and take such a huge risk for a job says a lot about the company." Dave believed the company was that good, and I soon found that I agreed with him. When I first joined my team, I had never worked as a professional in a staffing company, so in many ways, I was completely inexperienced. I was sitting by people who had been doing this for years, and what was mind-blowing was that they would take the time to show me how to talk to a doctor, teach me what to say and what not to say and give me all the tricks and tips they had learned over the years. The best in the business would find the time to take a break from their jobs to help me, and I never felt like I was wasting anyone's time. It was very simple and informal: they were just giving away their knowledge of success in this business. Even though we're competitive, we share a whole lot. I never have to worry about someone stabbing me in the back; instead, it seems like whenever I turn around, someone is there to help me.
