Name: Melinda Askervold

Job Title: Housing coordinator at RN Network in Boca Raton, Fla.

Years with CHG: 9

What is your favorite part about working at CHG? RN Network is family to me. Also, the generous benefits CHG gives its employees are unheard of.

What one story best describes your experience at CHG? My best experience at CHG is special to me. My mom was diagnosed with stage¬†IV terminal breast cancer in March 2010. When I heard the news, I immediately left work and drove straight to South Carolina to be with my family. Shortly after, I went back to South Carolina as my sister was having a yard sale to benefit our mom and help with her bills. Before I left, not only did I receive donations for the yard sale, but also a card and envelope was handed to me with over $400 that was donated by my coworkers. For people to give so generously, especially during a slow economy, was so touching to me. When I gave the cash to my mom, well, you can imagine the reaction to know that it came from people that were strangers to her –¬†but I told her they were family to me.

If someone asked you what you do, how would you answer them? I tell them I house employees for a staffing agency that helps place nurses in jobs at hospitals all over the country.

Why did you choose to work at CHG? I started at RNN before it was CHG. At the time, I chose to work here because it was a JOB. I choose to stay because I love my job and my company.

What is your favorite event that you have participated in at CHG and why? My favorite event was a team-building event where we went to a catering hall and were put on random teams and had a cook-off!

What is your favorite Core Value at CHG? All of our core values are so important for many reasons, but my favorite would have to be Putting People First, because it directly affects so many people and makes CHG a fun but professional place to work. It makes me proud when I tell people where I work and the type of atmosphere I get to work in!

If you could choose your last meal, what would it be? Filet minon with marsala sauce.

What five things would you take to a deserted island? Would I be cheating if I said a helicopter or a BOAT with a radio? OK, OK. Protein bars, water, machete, tarp and waterproof matches.

In a movie about your life, who would you choose to star as you? Nicole Kidman
