One way Jeff recommends to retain top employees is to have stay interviews with them to learn more about why they like the company and what they enjoy about their jobs.
"The best time to do these interviews is early in an employee's tenure with the organization, but don't just do them once," explains Jeff, "because people's motives can change over time."
