CompHealth, a national leader in healthcare staffing, is one of the country's "Best Places to Work in Healthcare," according to Modern Healthcare.
The recognition program honors workplaces throughout the healthcare industry that empower their employees to provide patients and customers with the best possible care, products and services. CompHealth ranked No. 2 among medium-size healthcare suppliers (100-999 employees) and No. 11 overall. This is the fourth year the company has appeared on the list.
"The work we do, the difference we make in the communities we serve, and the lives we touch are all centered on our defining core value of Putting People First," said David Baldridge, group president at CompHealth. "Putting People First is also at the heart of our employee culture. We believe that every decision we make as a company should be in the best interest of our people."
CompHealth's people-centric culture is expressed in many ways, from offering employees paid time off to volunteer in the community, to a free onsite health clinic for employees and their families. In addition to receiving benefits from the company, CompHealth employees also give to one another. The organization's Employee Compassion Fund allows team members to donate to coworkers who have experienced financial hardship as a result of an unexpected event.
The team also has a lot of fun. Employees can unwind in a rec room filled with pool and shuffleboard tables, arcade games and a pinball machine. They can also get to know their coworkers outside of work through employee-run network groups including a running club, an LGBT pride group, a support network for cancer survivors, and many others.
CompHealth employs more than 800 people across three offices: Grand Rapids, Mich.; Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and its headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah. CompHealth employees help healthcare providers in more than 100 specialties find permanent jobs or fill locum tenens assignments. In 2013, CompHealth providers served more than 9.5 million patients in thousands of facilities across the country.
