CHG donates wheelchairs to National Ability Center in Park City, Utah

After donating several wheelchairs to the VA Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, to celebrate Veterans Day, CHG employees also donated two wheelchairs to the National Ability Center in Park City, Utah, Dec. 13. Julie Sibthorp and Heide Kraus, both members of CHG’s corporate events team, and Alan McIver, group president over CompHealth allied health staffing and RNnetwork, presented the wheelchairs to NAC leaders.

Locum Tenens: My Gateway to Successful Medical Missions

Dr. Renee Volny says working as a locum tenens physician with Weatherby Healthcare provides her the flexibility to have a career while fulfilling her passion to serve volunteer missions in undeveloped countries. Last year, she served a life-changing medical mission in Ghana, where she provided medical care and donated mammogram machines to help with early detection of breast cancer.

CHG Healthcare Services is the largest temporary physician staffing company in the U.S. Job numbers are back statewide to 3.5 percent, and new hires are fueling CHG's growth. The unemployment rate in Utah fell to 5.1 percent in November 2012, the lowest rate since November 2008, and the job count rose 3.1 percent during the same month. And CHG is contributing to the job growth trend -- adding 100 to 200 people each year. "Because of the physician shortage [in the U.S.], there’s been great demand for our services. So we’ve been hiring people to continue to pursue the growth opportunities that exist," CHG’s CEO, Mike Weinholtz, told a Salt Lake Tribune reporter.

Following the Dec. 14 Newtown, Conn. tragedy, John Giglietta, vice president of theCompHealth permanent placement division in Norwalk, Conn., brought in his daughter’s certified therapy dog, Shadow, to visit employees.
