A lot can happen in 7,300 days. For Melissa Kendall, an assignment coordinator with our
CompHealth locum tenens division, the past two decades have been filled with change. But one thing has remained constant: her commitment to her CompHealth teammates and providers.
Just a year after starting out in facilities, Melissa moved into her first CompHealth role as an assignment coordinator (AC). Later, following a short stint as a physician recruiter on the pediatrics team, she returned to an AC role supporting various teams and has been with the OB/GYN team for the past three years.
With so many years of experience putting together the puzzle pieces of our providers' assignments, it's not surprising that those who know her best describe Melissa as an invaluable part of the CompHealth family.
"I have been Melissa's leader for just over a year and have loved working with her," shares Suzy Glad, administrative manager. "She is one of the hardest-working people I know. She is very easy to lead because she just does her job and does it well. I know Melissa can be counted on completely, and I love that about her."
But Suzy isn't the only person Melissa has made an impression on. Christi Jackson, who worked with her on the government team for eight years, agrees.
"I'm only as good as the support that I have next to me every day and Melissa was just that. She always went above and beyond, no matter the task," she says.
Also not surprising is how the pair's great working relationship naturally developed into a tight-knit friendship. "I appreciate her smile, laughter and overall positive outlook on life. For this, I will forever be grateful," says Christi.
Melissa's Putting People First attitude and supportive nature have helped her excel in what is a complex and often demanding role. "I like being able to help get the doctors on assignment so they can help patients," Melissa says. "I like when things go smoothly for them. I try to put myself in their shoes and think about what I'd want to know if I was going [on an assignment]."
And while Melissa never anticipated calling CompHealth home for the past 20 years, she doesn't see herself anywhere else. "If you'd told me then that I'd still be here now, I wouldn't have believed it," she explains with a laugh. "Sometimes it's hard to believe it's been that long!"
Without committed, caring, connected team members like Melissa, CHG would not be able to fulfill its purpose to make a difference in the lives of those we serve. On behalf of the entire CHG family, congratulations to Melissa on 20 terrific years.
