Sarah Standley celebrates 20 years of feeling at home at CHG

Sarah Standley has been an integral part of CHG’s CompHealth locum tenens division since 1997. During those 20 years, her talents have made a marked difference on the division’s success — first as a file clerk and data entry specialist for the division’s credentialing team and now as a contract specialist for the government team. “I’ve been here for more than half of my life,” she says. “It’s literally home to me.” Wondering what that home has looked like for Sarah? She shares more about herself and her career in the Q&A below. How would you describe your current position? Currently I am the contract specialist for our government services team. I handle all of the contract issues on my team as well as submitting bids for coverage in government facilities. Why do you like working at CompHealth? I love all of the people I work with and the culture that CHG has focused so much time and energy into creating. Secondly, I love what we do for the community, both here and the communities around the facilities we work with. And thirdly, I love the dedication to wellness. What is your most memorable moment at CompHealth so far? Yikes. There are so many… but when a lady drove her SUV through our old building, that was pretty memorable. What advice do you have for others looking to grow their career? Trust in yourself and your managers and keep a positive and upbeat attitude. Live by our core values. What was it like when you first starting working for CompHealth? There were maybe 300 people here and even if you didn’t know someone by name, you recognized everyone in the building. They also had happy hour, which ended before I turned 21… so that was sad. How have you grown personally while working here? I have become an adult here. I’ve learned responsibility, dedication, maturity and adulting. If you were stranded on a desert island, what three things would you take with you? A good book, my Chihuahua (Diego) and a pair of running shoes. Maybe I would even invite my husband to come visit me…
