When asked what he does for a living, Eric Halpern, senior rehab therapy consultant at CompHealth permanent placement in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., likes to say that he is a "professional dream maker -- kind of like Willy Wonka."
With a job description like that, hobbies like searching for Sasquatch and a home crawling with more than 10 animals (five dogs, a tortoise, a blue-tongued skink, two exotic lizards, a chameleon and an assortment of fish), Eric knows a thing or two about having fun.
And with 10 years at CHG under his belt, he knows a bit about a fun working environment, too.
"I would say that the culture of the rehab therapy team, and really, the entire company, is all about having fun at work," Eric says. "I drive almost 25,000 miles a year to drive to and from work, but the people I work with make it worth it. I don't think there was ever a day that I didn't laugh or make others around me laugh and have a good time."
Read Eric's story about comparing the good times at CHG to those at his son's summer camp. You might be surprised which wins!

Over the summer, my nine-year-old son, Alexander, had mentioned to me that he didn't want to go to camp because "it was no fun!"
He said he preferred to go to work with me because of all of the fun that we have on a daily basis. I reminded him that at camp he could swim, have snacks and be able to play around whenever he wanted to. He responded with, "Dad, you get to go into work later than me and eat snacks whenever you want, too. You also have a room with a TV and can play ping pong during the day." Alexander told me that he's seen all of my dress-up pictures, so he also knows that whenever we have a dress-up day, I take full advantage of the chance I have to paint my face or dress up. In the end, I had to tell him that he was right: Working at CHG is way more fun than going to summer camp!
