When Chantel Mitton, administrative assistant on the medical staff services team at CompHealth locum tenens in Salt Lake City, Utah, came to work for CHG in July, she thought she had a relatively good idea of what to expect.
"My mom has been with CHG for a few years, and I would always hear her raving about all the fun events going on and exciting things that they were doing at work," Chantel says. "However, the way she talked about the culture still didn't prepare me in the slightest for what I was about to become a part of."
Hailing from a company with its own great culture and employee involvement, Chantel was not an easy critic, especially since she worked in that company's training department -- giving her, she admits, a slight bias when it came to training departments. Find out how CHG's training held up and learn about a unique ritual the CHG leaders began right by Chantel's desk in her CHG story below!

On my first day here, I was blown away by how amazing CHG's training is, and how much they care about their employees. Giving us a new water bottle, pens, binders, a T-shirt and all these goodies to hold us over for the long training was something that I have never seen a company do. I now can say that CHG and CompHealth have the best training department I have ever seen.
One thing that really opened my eyes to how much this company is invested in its culture was when Mike Weinholtz, CEO, along with Melissa Byington, division president of CompHealth locum tenens, and her vice presidents, Stephanie Rollheiser, Allison Beer and Amy Packer, came down and had a good ol' shoot-out on a target with the Nerf guns right next to my desk. Mike Weinholtz! The CEO of this huge company standing right next to me like we were good pals. I have never worked for a company where you ever even saw the CEO, so that definitely shows a lot. The best part was how Melissa kept accusing Stephanie of shooting from the "little girls' line" and how competitive they were to hit the bull's eye. This has since because a ritual: Every time they come down to the medical staff services floor, they duke it out to prove who is best.

It is so great to work for a company that invests so much time and energy into you, and to know that they do it for a good reason: There is not a single person here who doesn't love their job and doesn't love everyone they work with!
