CHG Healthcare Services, a national leader in healthcare staffing, earned a score of 80 on the 2015 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices relating to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) workplace equality. The CEI is administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.
As part of its core values, CHG strives to create a community of inclusion for all employees, where people with multiple backgrounds and ways of thinking can work effectively together. All voices are respected and heard, diverse viewpoints and approaches are valued, and everyone is encouraged to make a unique and meaningful contribution.
"We have created a culture where people can always feel comfortable and safe bringing their best selves to work every day," says Michael Weinholtz, chairman and CEO at CHG. "I truly believe that our success as a company is the result of great people caring about the work they do and the people they work with. It's an honor to be part of the team."
To support its people-centric culture, CHG provides employees with the opportunity to create and maintain employee network groups and use CHG facilities to hold meetings and events. The company is proud to support the CHG Pride employee group and to offer domestic partner benefits to its 1,700 employees nationwide.
"The LGBT community at CHG is supported from the top down," says Jamie Barker, a hospital privilege coordinator at CHG. "There is so much opportunity to celebrate who we are as individuals -- I don't feel like I have to hide any part of me."
The 2015 CEI rated a total of 972 businesses in the report, which evaluates LGBT-related policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBT community.
