Liz Robbins and Silvana Despain didn’t expect to become best friends when Liz started at CHG and they began working together in theCompHealth locum tenens division more than four years ago, but that’s just what happened. “Silvana and I have been friends since we met when I first started as a payroll rep for the medical oncology and radiation oncology sales teams,” Liz, administrative assistant for the business resource team, shares. “That was when the payroll reps in CompHealth locum tenens sat with the teams. She was one of the first people to befriend me, and it has grown from there.”

Since Sam Schwendiman started his job as a marketing coordinator at CHG almost a year ago, he’s been carpooling with Brian Sorensen, placing manager on theCompHealth locum tenens emergency medicine team. "I wish I could say my favorite thing about carpooling is the quality time I get to spend with Brian, but I’m going to be honest -- it’s the money I save on gas,” Sam says.
Emily Airdo, talent liaison at Weatherby Healthcare in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., first met Misty Browning when they worked together at TCBY/Pretzel Time. “We have been best friends since the day we started singing songs to our customers with spoon microphones,” Emily shares. “That’s when I knew we’d be friends forever.”
Sarah Easdale, associate contracts administrator for the government services team at CompHealth locum tenens, has worked at CHG for 15 years, but it wasn’t until Katie Monger started at the company five years ago that they developed a close friendship. “Katie and I met through a mutual friend who used to work here,” Sarah shares. “We all started hanging out outside of work as well, and we’ve continued to be friends ever since.”
Though they both work in the Salt Lake office now (and have each been here for 14 years), mom and daughter Jackie Smith and Jenn Hansen started their road to CHG in a very unique way. “I was a client who, while attending the 1997 CompHealth Symposium, jokingly suggested my host should offer me a job at CompHealth. He did -- and the fun began,” Jackie, CompHealth locum tenens director, recalls.
CompHealth permanent placement, RN Network and Weatherby Healthcare were recognized as part of the South Florida Business Journal’s 2012 Best Places to Work list at an awards luncheon Feb. 23. Weatherby Healthcare ranked No. 2 in the large-size category, while RN Network ranked No. 3 and CompHealth permanent placement ranked No. 9 in the medium-size category.
CompHealth and Weatherby Healthcare were included on Inavero’s 2012 Best of Staffing list in both client and talent categories! This award program recognizes staffing firms that receive great reviews from their clients and talent (in our case, healthcare providers we place in jobs) through an annual online survey.
Weatherby Healthcare employees in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., recently supported students at Independence High School, which serves special needs students aged 11-22, by purchasing their handmade jewelry. Steve and Josh Keiser have enjoyed hanging out and riding motorcycles together for years – and, since September 2011, they’ve enjoyed working together in the IT department in Salt Lake City. “It’s good to see Josh every day,” Steve, senior software engineer, shares. “It’s fun for me to see how good he is at his job. Yeah, I’m a proud dad.”
