Congratulations to senior client consultant Laura Mais! Laura is celebrating 25 years with CHG in our Grand Rapids office. When Laura joined our CompHealth division in 1995, she was hired as a housing accounts payable representative.
“We didn’t have Internet or email,” she recalls with a laugh. “We picked up the phone for all of our communication. We sent a lot of mail, faxes, and FedEx too.”
After her initial hire, Laura worked as the housing operations manager. Then she stepped into sales and never looked back. Today, Laura’s focus is on rehabilitation therapy and home health care.
Check out the Q&A below to learn more about Laura and her time at CHG.
Why do you like working at CHG?
I love that there’s never a dull moment! It’s very fast paced, and every day is different.
What is your most memorable moment at CHG so far?
I can’t think of just one moment. My most memorable times have been the many President’s Clubs I’ve been able to attend. I’ve been to some amazing places, and it’s so great to meet people from all across the company.
What advice do you have for others looking to grow their career?
I’d say be patient, be goal oriented, and continue to work hard. There’s not a time in this job when it gets any easier. It takes a lot of hard work.
If you had a day to do anything at all, what would you do?
I’d spend it on our powerboat in the middle of Grand Traverse Bay, reading a good book. It’s my favorite thing to do.
If you were stranded on a desert island, what three things would you take with you?
I would take my husband and my two daughters, ages 9 and 12.
Laura says her goal now is to help CHG see the same level of success the company experienced before the pandemic. She’s working hard to rebuild her business to assure that success.
