CHG Healthcare Services, a leader in healthcare staffing and the nation's largest provider of locum tenens (temporary physician) services, has named Scott Beck chief executive officer. Michael Weinholtz, who has served as the company's CEO since 1998 and chairman since 2012, will assume the role of executive chairman and remain an officer of the company.
Beck joined CHG in 1999 and has held multiple leadership roles in the company, including chief marketing officer, president of the CompHealth locum tenens division, and group president. He has served as chief operating officer since 2008 and president since 2012, where he has been responsible for all of CHG's business operations.
"Over the past 16 years, I've been involved in many aspects of CHG's business and have been fortunate to work with and learn from great leaders," Beck said. "I'm excited for the opportunity to lead the continued growth and success of our company and our people."
CHG is recognized for its values-driven culture and has been named one of FORTUNE magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For" each of the past five years. In 2014, CHG's healthcare staffing companies placed more than 11,000 medical providers across the nation who served more than 17 million patients.
"Scott has been a key architect and driver of CHG's unmatched growth over the last decade," said Weinholtz, who first announced the planned CEO transition in April 2014, following a multi-year succession program. "I am excited for him to take on the role of CEO, and I'm confident he will do an excellent job of leading us into the future."
CHG employs more than 1,700 people in seven offices, including Salt Lake City, Utah; Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Boca Raton, Fla.; Durham, N.C.; Norwalk, Conn.; Grand Rapids, Mich.; and Edmond, Okla.
