More than a marathon to help Mother Earth

earth-day-collage-600p.jpg CHG makes a difference to our people, our customers and our communities — and last week, we also made a difference to Mother Earth. As Earth Day approached, our offices got creative — and a little competitive — to reduce our carbon footprint and make the world a little greener. RNnetwork kicked off Earth Week, holding creative events daily, including a hug-a-tree photo contest, nature hikes and a dish drive to eliminate paper products in the office's kitchen. On Earth Day, April 22, two dozen-plus CHG employees walked or biked to the office. And two groups — one in Florida and one in Utah — walked more than a marathon to make it to work! Three years and growing James Boley, Anne Frantz, Carrie Koncar and Sam Schwendiman walked together 27 miles from Saratoga Springs, Utah, to CHG's headquarters in Cottonwood Heights. They picked up a handful of colleagues along the way, and nearly 40 of our people met them to walk the final mile. "It's really cool to see something that started three years ago with just Sam and me walking to work evolve into something so much bigger," James says. "Nearly all our offices participated in some manner this year, increasing awareness across the nation." Weatherby walkers go the extra (nine) miles Weatherby Healthcare's Vanessa Perez, Diana Venegas and Justin Vida set an all-time walking record for CHG, trekking 36 miles from West Palm Beach, Fla., to our Fort Lauderdale office. "You never think you're going to get to the end," says Justin Vida, manager of Weatherby's operations team. "But step by step and mile by mile, we hit our small milestones." Those little steps added up to make a big difference. See a video recap of our fun Earth Week events: ¬† Check out a few highlights from the media coverage we received:
