CompHealth permanent placement team races to help local hospital

It may not be as prestigious as the famous bicycle race held in France, but that didn't stop CompHealth allied permanent placement team members from participating in the fourth annual Tour de Broward in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on Feb. 24!

Team members and their families ran, walked or biked their way through Miramar Regional Park to support the Cardiac Center at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Hollywood, Fla., helping to raise more than $340,000 at the event.

In addition to the rehab therapy team members who participated, pharmacy team manager Jeff Wright also ran in the 5K — and took second place in his age division.

"Even though it was early Sunday morning, everyone rallied to show their support and brought members of their family along. After everyone completed the run or the walk, we enjoyed lunch, different vendor booths and a huge kids' play zone," shares Christina Sacco-Shea, rehab operations manager. "The response to join the run, walk or bike was overwhelmingly great. Our team ended up raising more than $1,600!"
