20 years and still growing
Meet Kym Fessler. She’s been with CompHealth, a CHG company, for more than 20 years. And she can tell you a thing or two about how you can grow in a career at CHG.
“I started as an assignment coordinator, but after that I knew I wanted to do something different, so I pursued leadership,” Kym says. “I became a supervisor — a leader over a few different people.” She is now a senior director over the payroll and assignment coordinator teams.
Kym’s career has flourished over the years, and she’s had the opportunity to contribute in many different roles. She built the foundation for the business partner trainer program, and she’s led several different teams, including a sales team.
“I wouldn’t have stayed if I didn’t love it,” says Kym. “The growth is there if you want it.”
More than just a job
After two decades of walking the floors of CompHealth, it’s the two p’s that have kept her motivated: people and purpose.
“I’ve made some lifelong friends at CHG. I love the work family. I know whatever happens in my personal or professional life, I have people that I can go to, people that I can lean on,” says Kym. “People say you have work life and home life and I wholeheartedly disagree. You have one life. They bleed together.”
Kym balances her life with the help of supportive leaders, colleagues, and major flexibility.
“I really enjoy the flexibility that CHG gives me because it provides me an indescribable amount of balance in my life. I am a mom of two kids, active children who are in sports and piano. I also have cared for my parents for the last 12 years — taking them to doctors’ appointments and everything that goes along with caring for aging parent,” explains Kym.
That’s one reason why the work we do at CHG is so near and dear to Kym’s heart.
What we do matters
“My father passed away from cancer and to see what doctors do, I couldn’t think of anything more admirable,” says Kym. “We work to put physicians in those positions to make patients’ quality of life better.”
It takes collaboration between business partners and our sales teams to carry out CHG’s purpose — to place providers in healthcare systems to ensure patients receive the quality care they deserve. The job can’t be done without either party.
